ViaQuest proves service excellence; earns CARF 3 Year Accreditation

ViaQuest proves service excellence through earning the highest level of accreditation awarded by CARF- A 3 Year Accreditation

ViaQuest maintains CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accreditation within CARF’s Behavioral Health, as well as Employment and Community Services Standards. CARF accreditation is a sign to the public of ViaQuest’s commitment to continually improve services, encouraging feedback and serving the community.

Why does accreditation matter?

Consumers face a variety of options when deciding what services to use and who should provide them. Accreditation is a sign of quality and is an important consideration in their decision making. By meeting CARF accreditation standards, ViaQuest is demonstrating our commitment to being the best service provider available.

How is accreditation achieved?

Achieving accreditation requires a service provider to commit to quality improvement, focus on the unique needs of each person the provider serves and monitor the results of services.

A service provider begins the accreditation process with an internal examination of its program and business practices. Then the provider requests an on-site survey that will be conducted by a team of expert practitioners selected by CARF. During the survey, the provider must demonstrate that it conforms to a series of rigorous and internationally recognized CARF standards.

Based on the results of the survey, CARF prepares a written report of the provider’s strengths and areas for improvement. If a provider has sufficiently demonstrated its conformance to the standards, it earns CARF accreditation.

Benefits of being CARF Accredited for the consumer

CARF accreditation helps ViaQuest achieve quality outcomes for the people we serve. Specific CARF accreditation benefits include:

  • Assurance that we have demonstrated conformance to internationally accepted standards
  • Improved communication
  • We have person-focused standards that emphasize an integrated and individualized approach to services and outcomes
  • Accountability to funding sources, referral agencies, and the community

Through compliance with CARF accreditation standards, ViaQuest is able to improve the quality of our services, through the implementation Risk Management, Process Improvement and Outcomes based systems that demonstrate being in compliance with a large number of internationally recognized organizational and program standards.

ViaQuest Featured in Smart Business Columbus

ViaQuest was recently featured in the publication Smart Business Columbus – on the cover, no less! ViaQuest President, Rich Johnson writes:

“Several months ago Smart Business interviewed me for an article that was going to be published in the August issue of Smart Business Magazine. I was very surprised that ViaQuest made the front cover and was the feature story when the article came out! We have been through some dark times together but we are stronger for it and we will continue to fight for each other and the people we serve!”

The article centers on the challenges ViaQuest faced in 2008 when banks suddenly shut down its line of credit, and the ways by which Rich and the company as a whole, fought back. It’s a great depiction of our attitude towards hard work and how our strong beliefs in our mission, vision and values made all the difference. ViaQuest thanks Smart Business for featuring our success story!

Celebrate Nurses Week!

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Often described as an art and a science, nursing is a profession that embraces dedicated people with varied interests, strengths and passions because of the many opportunities the profession offers. As nurses, we work in emergency rooms, school based clinics, and homeless shelters, to name a few. We have many roles – from staff nurse to educator to nurse practitioner and nurse researcher – and serve all of them with passion for the profession and with a strong commitment to patient safety.

ViaQuest Nursing Services supports our Ohio communities with nurse education and staff training. Learn more about VQNS on our homepage!
