Delegated Nursing

Nursing Delegation is the process in which a licensed nurse delegates a nursing task to an unlicensed, certified personnel in a setting which requires delegation. The nurse is responsible for initially completing an assessment of the individual and the certified personnel to determine its appropriateness in a particular setting. Once this has been determined, the nurse is responsible for monitoring the ongoing needs of the patient and evaluation of certified personnel on a routine basis.
